Meet Teri:
Teri Heape-Cleland is a warm lady with a kind heart . and a head of hair. She has struggled her whole life with how to deal with the natural curl and frizz of her hair, along with finding the color that is right for her. In addition, she has recently turned 50-years-old, which has added to her desire for a new look. With spring upon us, we thought it was a perfect time to help Teri shake her winter doldrums and bloom into a beautiful, new flower.
The Hair:
Teri has struggled for years with the color of her hair and how to deal with her natural curl. The ladies at Fringe, an Aveda Concept Salon, were ready and willing to help her tackle all her tress troubles. Co-owner and stylist Lorane Clark defined Teri's look as being triangular, which took away from her pretty facial features. She decided to add both highlights and lowlights to create a sophisticated, dimensional look, along with a rich demi-color glaze to deepen her all-over color. In addition, Lorane cut layers into her hair to lighten the weight and allow her natural curl to work for her. She also combined "straight cutting" with "point cutting" to assist with the curl, and gave Teri a lesson on curl management for the coming spring and summer months.
For the style, Lorane debated on giving Teri a straight look, but decided that her hair had too much volume to stay straight. She decided to add some big, beautiful curls that she smoothed out with her fingers. When she was finished, Teri's glamorous new hair literally brought tears of joy to her eyes.

Pampering:
At Fringe, the stylists take great care in offering complete pampering and relaxation throughout the entire experience. While Teri's hair was processing, she received a warm compress around her neck and a hand massage from Danielle Biggers with Aveda Hand Relief. By the time we headed over to the makeup department, Teri's hands were silky smooth and the tension in her neck was gone!
The Makeup:
Rachel Mayoh, co-owner, stylist and Aveda trained makeup artist, used warm, neutral colors on Teri to bring out her natural glow and the richness of her new hair color. As she applied each product, she explained the natural benefits of using Aveda products on your skin and eyes. When she was finished, Teri's skin looked rejuvenated and refreshed. Her eyes were stunning, bright and revitalized.

Welcome Spring:
Since the weather was beautiful and spring was in the air, the helpful sales associates at Fresh Produce, located in Coligny Plaza, helped us pick out a colorful outfit with beautiful Brighton jewelry to compliment Teri's look. We headed out to the beach and had a fun photo shoot in the warm sunshine. Welcome spring! Teri's ready for you.
