Wednesdays- Parent's Night Out
Kids enjoy a pizza party while adults enjoy a date night out at The Sandbox. Geared for children age 3-9 years. August- Beaufort Film Festival
Calling for features, documentaries, short films, student films, animation, and screenplays, the film festival is now accepting submissions for the 6th annual film festival 2012 contest. For more info: 843-522-3196

August 2nd Apple Pie Painters
The Art League of Hilton Head features the Apple Pie Painters, a group of ten artists, opening with an artist reception from 5-7 p.m. at the Arts Center's Walter Greer Gallery, 14 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island. August 2nd Islander and Day Tripper Camps
The Islander Camp is a four-day camp offered August 2-5, 15-19 and 22-26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Coastal Discovery Museum. The cost is $195 and includes all gear, snacks/drinks and instruction with local angler Scott Moody. August 3rd Venemous Plants & Animals

August 5th Jambalaya Deux
This dynamic gallery exhibition will showcase the earthy Lowcountry painter, Diane Britton-Dunham, and the evocative, renown collagist, James Denmark. August 6th Annual Summer Art Show

August 6th Pickin by the River

August 10th Biscuits and Blessings

First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island, is hosting an end-of-summer party, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event is free to the public, and include waterslides, snow cones, hot dogs and more. August 13th Street Music on Paris Avenue

August 13th Kayak for a Kure

The American Diabetes Association's (ADA) fall campaign, Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, gets under way with the 4th Annual Hugh H. Armstrong Sr. Memorial Kayak for a Kure. The event is $50 and includes entry, BBQ lunch and drinks, live music and a goody bag. The three-mile paddle begins at Butterbean Beach at 10 a.m. and ends at the UGA Marine Extension Service Aquarium. August 14th Johnny Mercer Tribute

The Coastal Jazz Association presents Jazz Just Across the River. Barbara Rosene, vocalist for the Harry James Orchestra, will sing in a jazz tribute to Johnny Mercer at 5 p.m. at the Westin on Hutchinson Island. August 18th Business After Hours

August 20th Par Fore the Kids

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry presents its first event to benefit all (5) clubs: the Par Fore the Kids Charity Golf Tournament. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. at Hilton Head National in Bluffton. Entry fee is $75 per player or $300 per team.  The tournament includes breakfast, practice range, greens fee, cart, box lunch, prizes and reception at Wild Wings CafÈ in Bluffton. September 30th Lo.Co. Motion
