Let the Holidays Begin at Taste of the Season

Fa La La Meets Culinary Ooh La La at Taste of the Season!

TASTE 1115

With 27- plus ways to say delicious, Lowcountry foodies know they are in for the ultimate “Taste of the Season experience,” as they enjoy an elegant sampling of the region’s best cuisine.  Come celebrate award-winning cuisine from 27 of the area’s top chefs at Taste of the Season, presented by the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.

This year, Taste of the Season moves to an exciting new venue at the Country Club of Hilton Head on Friday, November 20th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

“Taste of the Season always offers a culinary twist on the best of Lowcountry cuisine,” said Charlie Clark, Chamber spokeswoman.

What could be better than a Lowcountry oyster roast?  This year patrons will get a special sneak-peek opportunity to sample delicious oysters on the club terrace with a fresh raw bar and steamed oysters. Harvested within mere hours of the event, these fresh oysters from Hudson’s GM Andrew Carmines’ newest culinary venture, Shell Ring Oyster Company.   “We’ll be picking all the oysters the day of and the day before the event, so they will be unbelievably fresh,” said Carmines.

Showcasing the culinary skills of Lowcountry chefs, this landmark event offers a tradition of excellence. “We’ve been a part of Taste of the Season since the beginning,” said Orchid Paulmeier of One Hot Mamas. “It’s a fabulous event and gives everyone a real taste of what we have to offer.”
Innovative cuisine will be the theme of the night as top area chefs compete for the highly coveted title of “Best Cuisine.” NEO’s Russell Keane will be serving Hunter Cattle Company grass-fed beef stroganoff over wild local mushroom risotto, along with homemade petit fours from their new bakery, which is opening soon. WiseGuys Matt Kazmierczak will bring his braised short rib and root vegetable demi. And  how does pan seared diver scallop over crab risotto with truffle butter and crispy prosciutto sound, coming from ELA’s Blu Water Grille’s chef Ryan Alpaugh? Round it off with decadent desserts from the Chocolate Canopy and melt in your mouth macarons from the island’s Marche de Macarons.
What makes Taste of the Season a not-to-be missed event?

This annual holiday tradition is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays and get your shopping off to an early start with silent auction items, including great getaways, gifts, dining, golf and more.
