LUX~A Medical Spa
Offers Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are some of the most common questions patients have when they come to LUX?
A: The questions usually depend upon the patient’s age. Women in their 20s ask about lines in forehead and lip augmentation. 30 and 40 year old women become more concerned with 11 lines between the brows and enjoy playing with cheek as well as lip volume to get a desired look. Women in their 50s and 60s are less aware of volume loss than overall sag, particularly upper eye lid, brow and corners of the mouth. They say “I’m tired of people asking am I tired or sad.” Creases in the forehead and between the brow worry men more, but just as with women as they age, volumizing with filler also improves a man’s look. Logically the corrections I make with fillers and Botox or Dysport are directed to restore the patient’s natural volume and lift.

Q: What makes LUX stand out over other practices?
A: First we have the most talented, experienced, kind and fun team. I am so grateful to work with them everyday. We work together to give each patient the best results possible even when the individual provider isn’t even seeing the patient. Second, we also have the skills, knowledge and guidance of Board Certified Dermatologist Carmen A. Traywick, MD and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Frederick G. Weniger, MD. This combination of skill, experience, knowledge and caring makes us unique in the area and offers our patients the assurance of safe, superior results.

Q: What are some of the most popular procedures at LUX, and why do you think this is?
A:
One of the draws of living in the Lowcountry is the active physical and social life, so downtime with procedures is a big deal. For that reason procedures like Botox, fillers and microneedling, which offer nice results with the least downtime, are the most popular.

Q: If you can tell a patient one piece of advice regarding facial rejuvenation, what would it be and why?
A: Maintenance! The right medical skin care done daily over time reaps big rewards. Getting Botox quarterly corrects and prevents lines from forming. Fillers balance your face. Smaller treatments done regularly look more natural and prevent an engine overhaul.

Q: What does the slogan “Experience Matters. We Gets Results.” mean to you?
A: I have been in practice since 1991. When I first started I had adequate knowledge and skills to perform my job well; however, my experience over the last 25 years gives me the confidence and wisdom to obtain superior results. Using the same tools, someone with more experience gets better results.
