We’ve all been there—bike riding along on a beautiful day and up ahead, looming, is the dreaded stop sign. Next comes a balancing act as you struggle into a stopping position, leaning to one side, tiptoeing on the other, in an awkward dance. You silently scream to yourself, “I wish this was easier!”
Now it is, and you will be able to fall in love with bike riding again. Elev8 bike’s new design makes riding comfortable, easier and better for your overall health. This new technology was conceived and created by Bill Becker, a retired assembly line worker and Hilton Head Island resident. He wanted to create a bike that would make riding a bike fun again, like when the was a kid! Elev8 Bikes’ mantra is that riding a bicycle should be safe, comfortable and fun through technology.
So what makes an elev8 bike so different? The bike boasts an innovative frame design, and is literally the only bike on earth with the groundbreaking use of a Suspa gas cylinder adjustable seat, allowing riders to lower their seat while riding, with a simple push of a button. This completely changes starting and stopping, allowing the rider to lower the seat as they stop, and plant their feet firmly on the ground. “Seventy-nine percent of bicycle injuries occur within an intersection because people have a hard time starting and stopping,” explains elev8 Bikes President, Matt Papka. “Our bike allows a more competent and confident entrance to an intersection because of the ease of starting and stopping, and being able to be surefooted, not having to worry about falling over.”
When the rider starts moving again, it’s so easy to raise the seat and be in a position to ride so that the knees are in a healthy position with ideal leg extension. This makes bike riding more efficient, while simultaneously providing comfort and ergonomically correct form. Another benefit to the elev8 Bike is being able to see your surroundings by sitting upright, which also benefits your spine. The front and rear suspension also helps to absorb any bumps, allowing a smoother ride, all the while improving the riders’ balance and agility. The ease of lowering and raising the seat, without any tools, allows the rider to mount the bike without having to throw one leg over the seat. Riders may mount the bike easily by walking over the back tire, and sitting down on the lowered seat.
“The elev8 Bike is going to change cycling because it’s going to allow a lot broader group of people to enjoy riding comfortably and safely,” cycling expert, Dr. Kimberly Perry says. The elev8 Bike has made appearances on shows like “Shark Tank” and “The Doctors,” and has been invited to “The Ellen Degeneres Show” twice. You can even create your own custom bike with logos and colors. This new technology, which Richard Schwinn, founder of Schwinn Bikes, describes as the best new bicycle technology in a long time, will elev8 your love for cycling and get you back on the road.
