A Bra is a Bra Right?

Wrong!

A bra is an undergarment that not only has the ability to make you look great, but it can make you feel (mentally and physically!) terrific as well. Yet 8 out of 10 women wear the wrong size bras. Check out the facts below to find out if you are one of these women.

A bra must lift, support, contain, and provide comfort.

TOO BIG:
If the bra band is too big it will ride up in the back. The cups are likely to gap because they are not filled out completely. Also, the breasts will sag because they have no lift or support.

PERFECT FIT: Back of bra anchors low and snug on the body. The shoulder straps adjust to a length where they are not digging into the body and still supporting the cups and the breasts. All breast tissue is completely contained in the cups. Wires lay flat against the chest wall and do not touch breast tissue. Center gore of the bra tacks to the chest wall. Straps are adjusted and correctly aligned on the body. There are no gaps or wrinkles in the cups. The breasts are lifted and supported for comfort and a great look.

TOO SMALL: If the band is too small the weight of the breast tissue will cause the bra to ride up in the back. Also, the breast tissue will spill over the cups, the straps will dig into the shoulders, and the wings will collapse under the weight of the breast tissue when a bra is too small. Finally, a bra that is too small might cause discomfort because the underwire will poke the breast tissue.

Are You Wearing the Wrong Size Bra? Ask Yourself these Simple Questions:

  • Is my bra comfortable? (No really, we are serious about this one.)
  • How many times a day do I tug on or adjust my bra?
  • What is the first item of clothing I want to take off when I get home or in the car?
  • Does my bra make me feel confident and beautiful?
  • Does my bra last as long as it should for the amount of money I paid for it?
  • Do your bra straps fall off your shoulders?
  • Does the underwire in your bra poke or bother you?
  • Does the back of your bra ride up?
  • Wouldn't it be nice to find the perfect bra for me?

Shopping for a Bra
Of course, women's bodies come in all sizes too; mostly they fall into the categories of petite, average, and full figure. Bras come in a wide variety of sizes and styles to meet the needs of all women, so you just have to figure out which category best suits your body type, determine your correct size, and then have some fun shopping for the bras that match your needs and your personality.
You should always try a bra on before purchasing it. Different designs and characteristics influence how bras fit. When you order online, you might have to buy and return a few bras before you find exactly the one that you want. The good news is, once you are properly fitted in a Wacoal bra, you won't want to wear anything else ever again.
