Hollie Udvornocky graduated from high school at age 17 and moved to California to launch acareer in real estate. After giving birth to her son, she relocated to South Carolina to be near her family in the greater Hilton Head Island area. In her 30s, Hollie began experiencing a wide range of health problems that medical professionals were unable to identify or treat.
Plagued by stomach issues, eczema, struggles to regulate her blood sugar, falling asleep sitting up, and her hair falling out in clumps, Hollie felt awful and was terrified. “No one could figure it out,” she shared. “I thought I was going to die.”
Since a diagnosis eluded medical professionals, Hollie began researching her symptoms and came across a woman who experienced symptoms identical to hers. That woman’s diagnosis was a gut infection, so Hollie, eager for relief from her condition, began to follow the same regimen. That regimen made her even sicker, so she enrolled in courses offered by the Nutritional Therapy Association, began studying, and became a Certified Functional Nutritionist. The timing of Hollie’s career shift served her both personally and professionally. “There was a lot of demand for this health information, but no one here offered it,” she explained.
Soon, Hollie found herself working with clients who were experiencing the same symptoms and problems that previously plagued her. Her very first client was a cancer patient with complicated health issues. While Hollie initially had good success with her clients, a subset of her clientele didn’t respond as well, even when they did everything they were asked to do. “Back then, I thought I would save the world with nutrition,” laughed Hollie. “Wellness, however, encompasses so much more than the food we eat.”
Her quest for answers led her back to her time spent in California when she learned the practice of meditation. “I put it out to the universe and said, ‘Show me how to help these people,’ and I got a response,” said Hollie. Two days later, a friend sent her a video of a long-suffering young man with chronic health issues. The video demonstrated ACMOS (Analysis of the Compatibility of Matter on the Organism and its Synergy) holistic energy balancing, a process that employs an antenna to detect the root cause of underlying health concerns. The antenna detects and helps to correct energetic imbalances in the body. The cause of that young man’s health concerns was an infection stemming from a root canal. Now, Hollie utilizes ACMOS energy balancing in her practice with clients who are open to it.
As an empath, Hollie can sense trauma, anxiety, and depression in her clients. Sometimes, even her model clients, who follow every instruction to the letter, still endure health struggles exhibited these emotions. As she dove into her studies even further, she was surprised to learn that chronic disease can often be traced back to something that happened during the first seven years of a person’s life. Hollie was also surprised how many people are willing and open to exploring the root causes of their illnesses. “Most people are all in,” reported Hollie. “As children, we are not taught how to process emotions, and it eventually shows up in the body.”
Hollie said physical symptoms are our bodies’ ways of telling us when we are out of alignment. Heartburn, as an example, is a form of resistance. “If we feel like things are out of control, it comes out in our gut,” said Hollie. “Symptoms let us know something is off.” Hollie also mentioned that weight gain is a protective mechanism that shields us from danger. People who have been abused will sometimes retain weight to protect themselves from additional harm.
Wellness is a multi-faceted process that includes much more than a healthy diet. “Our thoughts create chemical reactions in our body,” Hollie explained. “More positivity and doing whatever makes you feel peaceful—whether it’s a walk or sitting in a sauna—do more of that.”
Hollie also suggested engaging in deep breathing exercises to reduce cortisol, the main stress hormone, in the body, and to be discerning about food choices. In addition, she reminds people to be conscientious and thoughtful when reading the massive amounts of health information available today. “Your gut instinct is always right,” said Hollie. “Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s your body’s medicine. Use your intuition about which diet will work best for you.”
