About the Cover Artist — Erisha Rubingh

We're excited to bring Erisha Rubingh's fabulous artwork to the cover of Pink Magazine for the fifth time. A fashion, lifestyle illustrator and watercolorist, Erisha is inspired by style in every form—food, fashion and décor. Her illustrations reflect her naturally effervescent and colorful personality. If Erisha had to describe her illustrations in one word, it would be, “Exuberant! Or Vivacious! It’s hard to pick just one!” she said.

In 2012, her vision feverishly flourished when she launched a creativity blog. “That was when I realized illustration was what I loved to do.” Since then, she has developed a career as a freelance illustrator, as well as curating a paper product business called “A Thing Created Illustration.” We have loved watching Erisha's career bloom in the years we've known her!

A transplant from Seattle to Chicago, she finds inspiration in the historic and rich culture of her new home city. Erisha produces illustrations using Arches hot-press watercolor paper and her favorite vibrant liquid watercolor paints. This technique soaks vibrancy into each unapologetically girly painting, full of color and whimsy.

Having taken only one art class in high school, Erisha is a self-taught artist, taking the world by storm. Her humble spirit offers a fresh approach, and her attention to daily style and décor is instantly enticing. “My illustrations are always very colorful and detailed because I am all about inspiring people to celebrate everyday beauty in the world around them. I hope people feel uplifted and inspired when they see my work. Where ever I am, I always hope to be creating beautiful art.” With her love for everything beautiful, it’s not surprising her favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day.

Over the past several years, Erisha has enjoyed partnerships with major retailers, including Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Paper Source, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls, where her products have been sold across the U.S. She has also been featured in national publications such as HGTV Magazine, Parade, Travel & Leisure, and Victoria Magazine.

This month’s cover, entitled “Shoppin’ and Poppin’” was inspired by Erisha's love of the holidays. “The inspiration behind this piece is the joy of the holiday hosting season and the gift of bringing family and friends, both old and new, together" she explained.
