DURING JULY

Sunset Celebration at Shelter Cove Community Pary
6-9 p.m. Friday nights. Join us on the banks of Broad Creek for a picnic and a sunset serenade with Tim Cadiere and the Washboard Road Band at the pavilion in Shelter Cove Community Park. Bring a beach chair, blanket, and pick up a picnic from one of our local merchants. Featuring live music and laid back family entertainment.

Summer Jams at Shelter Cove Community Park
5-9 p.m. Tuesday nights. The Island Recreation Association is proud to bring you a fun-filled, festive atmosphere, with the highlight of the night fireworks which start around 9 p.m. Kids of all ages can enjoy inflatable bounce houses for a minimal fee. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the fireworks! We are adding to the fun this year with a zipline and bungee jump! The Surf’s Jeff Taylor 5-7 p. m.; Rick Hubbard “Because We’re on Vacation” 7-9 p.m.

Farmer's Market at Sea Pines Center
10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Tuesdays. The market welcomes back some of your favorite vendors with lots of delicacies for your holiday dining including fresh local produce, pecans, freshly baked bread and hot crossed buns. Set your table with hand made linens, wooden bowls and hand thrown pottery. Satisfy your sweet tooth with cookies and cakes. 

Bluffton Farmer's Market
2-7 p.m. Thursdays. Fresh, local produce (organic & traditional), plants, nuts, herbs, flowers, honey, cheese, milk, eggs, beef, pork, lamb, poultry, and seafood. Specialty items: kettle corn, spices, coffee, loose tea blends, smoothie boosters, cookies, galettes, treats, jams, salsa, chutneys, sweets, chocolates, granolas, sprout breads, freshly baked goods & pastries, fresh pasta & sauces.

Port Royal Farmer's Market
8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Saturdays. South Carolina produce, seafood, plants, prepared foods, honey, cheese and live music. Naval Heritage Park, Ribaut Rd. portroyalfarmersmarket.com.

JULY 2
Historic Fort Mitchell Tour
On this history tour, you’ll visit a well preserved example of a Civil War Era coastal artillery battery.  Learn about what life on Hilton Head Island was like for northern soldiers during the Union occupation from 1861-1866.  This guided tour is offered in cooperation with the Heritage Library Foundation, owner of this historic site. Cost is $12 adult, $7 child (ages 7-12) Reservations required; call 843-689-6767 ext. 223.

JULY 3
Gregg Russell Concert
8-9 p.m. Over the years, Gregg has become a Sea Pines classic. Under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town is where you’ll find Gregg Russell entertaining adults and children alike. His concerts are not to be missed. Complimentary.

JULY 4
Hilton Head Firecracker Run at Shelter Cove Community Park
8 a.m. The Firecracker Run is the largest and oldest foot race in Beaufort County, and one of the top ten races in South Carolina. 1,800 runners and walkers are expected. To register visit www.bearfootsports.com or call 843-757-8520.

JULY 4
Free Community Picnic at Honey Horn
11 a.m.-3 p.m. Join Central Oak Grove & Grace Community Church for a free community picnic. Free bounce houses for the kids, slides, dunk tank, food & fellowship. JULY 16
Discovery Camp at Coastal Discovery Museum
9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Get up-close and hands-on experience with some of your favorite reptiles.  Explore the lives of these amazing critters, identify some Lowcountry reptiles, and hold a live alligator (and a few other reptiles too)! For ages 7-12; $35 non-member and $30 for member. Reservations are required. Call 843-689-6767 ext. 223.

JULY 19
May River Shrimp Festival
5-9 p.m. The Bluffton Sunset Party series continues with the May River Shrimp Festival. The May River Shrimp Festival will feature shrimp boat tours, a shrimp heading contest, live music from Zack Stiltner and the Low Country Boil Bluegrass Band, a craft beer garden and a food court featuring shrimp and fresh local seafood from seven area restaurants. 

JULY 25
DragonBoat Race Day
8 a.m.-4 p.m. Dragonboat Beaufort and the 60th Annual Beaufort Water Festival are hosting the 3rd annual DragonBoat Race Day. To be held at beautiful Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park downtown on the Beaufort River in America’s Happiest Seaside Community, Beaufort, SC. 30 teams will race right in front of the Park’s seawall. Among the fun and festivities will be an opening ceremony, three heats of races, the moving Carnation Ceremony for cancer survivors and their families and the closing medal ceremony.
