Summer grilling season has arrived! Flavorful, flame-kissed fare is on the menu, and what better way to knock it out the park than sensational seasoning. Whether you’re marinating your favorite steak or roasting vegetables, a great seasoning can make a world of difference, which is why we are ecstatic to team up with the king of “Yum, yum, get ya sum® ”, Dan-O himself.

An internet sensation and founder of Dan-O’s Seasoning, Dan-o’s mission is inspiring the world to cook up a whole lotta fun and make healthier food choices without ever sacrificing taste. And they make it easy for anyone to jump right in and feel confident while cooking. With Dan-O’s, there’s no need to measure out multiple spices, their all-purpose seasonings save time and simplify meal prep.

Dan-O’s Seasoning was founded in 2015 by Louisville, KY, native, Dan Oliver (nicknamed Dan-O), in an effort to change the world one table at a time and to inspire fun and healthy cooking with real flavors. Back when Dan was in college, he started experimenting with seasoning on chicken thighs. He spent years refining the recipe into what it is today, while working as a bartender and cook in a local restaurant. “I always made my special chicken recipe for family and friends, and it was always a hit. At the restaurant, we would sell out of chicken when I used it, but I never thought of it as a legitimate business idea,” Dan said. “One day back in January 2015, there was a customer sitting at the bar who tried my chicken, he took one bite and said, ‘This is the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Why aren’t you selling this?’”

Once Dan took the leap and began marketing his seasoning, he decided to take to social media to spread the word. At first, he wasn’t getting a ton of engagement. But after one of his cooking videos went viral his sales basically tripled overnight. Then, Dan-O’s following kept growing and growing and developed a cult-like fan base, now affectionately dubbed “Dan-O’s Fan-O’s.”

Today Dan-O’s all-purpose seasoning blends can be found nationwide in more than 18,000 retailers! Through all the success, Dan-O’s mission to bring more flavor to every table has never wavered. With more than 16 blends in the lineup, there’s something for everyone—including their newest Chili Lime Seasoning that just screams summer!

With zero calories and all-natural, premium ingredients, the entire line continues to be a healthy alternative to traditional seasonings. Dan-O’s seasonings are low in salt, sugar-free and made the way seasoning should be made. Every bottle of Dan‑O’s Seasoning has 50 mg of sodium or less per ¼ teaspoon, allowing them to focus more on the flavors of their signature herbs and spices to give you the most Yum, Yum, Get Ya Sum® per serving.

Dan-O and his talented team have created a website full of dynamite dishes just waiting for you at www.danosseasoning.com. Plus, we’ve chosen our favorites for you to peruse. So, this summer, as you fire up the grill or heat up the kitchen, don’t forget to “Put some Dan-O’s on it!” We promise, one taste, and you’ll be a Fan-O.

Sausage Pinwheels
Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 30 mins | Servings: 20

1 tsp Garlic powder Dan Os 0625 burger
1 Tbsp Dan-O’s Italian-O™ Seasoning
1 Tbsp Olive oil
3/4 cup Sharp white cheddar, grated
1 cup ground Italian sausage
2 (8 oz) cans Crescent roll dough
8 oz Cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Red bell pepper, finely chopped

Preheat your oven to 375°F and set the racks in the upper and lower thirds. Grab a medium skillet and set it over medium-high heat. Drizzle in the oil and toss in your sausage, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until the sausage is crumbly and no longer pink, about 6 minutes. Toss in your bell pepper and cook for another 3 minutes, just until it softens up a bit. Transfer everything to a plate and let it cool for about 10 minutes.

While that cools, mix up your filling! In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and Dan-O’s Italian-O™ Seasoning until it’s all nice and smooth. Now, let’s work with the dough. On a flat surface, roll out your dough into a 13” x 5” rectangle. Pinch any seams to make it smooth on both sides. Spread your cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1/4” border all around. Sprinkle that cooled sausage and bell pepper mix on top, gently pressing it into the cream cheese so it sticks when you roll it. With the long side of the dough facing you, roll it up nice and tight into a log. Place the log seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Pop it in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up.

Take the dough log out of the freezer and slice it into 1/2” rounds. Place those rounds cut side down on two parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 11/2” to 2” apart so they have room to puff up. Bake the pinwheels, rotating the baking sheets from top to bottom and front to back halfway through. In about 20 minutes, they’ll be golden brown, puffed up, and ready to devour!

Fresh parsley, optional
Parmesan cheese, optional

Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out the dough on parchment paper with a sprinkle of flour. The dough should be at least 10 to 12 inches long by 8 inches wide. Make sure the end of the roll is on the underside and touches the parchment paper after you complete rolling. Tuck in the sides: any ingredients that fall out get shoved into the side before you start tucking. Brush the top with the egg wash and any leftover melted butter, then sprinkle more Italian-O and Cheesoning on top. Slice at least 3 slits in the top to vent while cooking. Slits should be at least 1 to 2 inches in length. Bake at 400°F until golden brown on top, about 20 minutes.
